Located on the Garden Route, Tsitsikamma NP is the perfect combination between mountains, forests and the sea. Because of this nice combination of landscapes there are many fun activities!

What?
A beautifully situated indigenous forest on the Indian Ocean. In the park you can go kayaking, quad biking, horse riding, zip lining and hiking. You can walk over the famous suspension bridges (photo), along the rugged coastline or through the primeval forest.

Where?
The Tsitsikamma NP is located on the N1, approximately 170 km from Port Elizabeth and 580 km from Cape Town. You take the exit on the N1 to the Tsitsikamma National Park, after about 5 km you will arrive at the entrance gate where you have to register. After entering the park, the first hiking routes that you encounter are the ones in the primeval forest, when you continue you will drive along the beautiful coastline. At the end of this road starts the storms river mouth hiking trail, which takes you in 2 km to the suspension bridges.

When?
All year round, although it can be cold and wet in the Cape winter.

How long?
Because of the many activities available you can easily spend a few days here. We recommend staying at least 1 night in the park or in the village of Stormsriver.

Cost
An overnight stay in the park is possible from 40 euros (2 people, pn), an overnight stay in the cozy town of Stormsriver from 55 euros (2 people, pn)
Entrance fee Tsitsikamma NP: ZAR 219pp (approximately 15 EUR), no extra costs for the hiking trails
Kayaking Tsitsikamma: ZAR 550 pp + ZAR130 optional rental of wetsuit and shoes (excl. Entry fee NP)
Zipline: ZAR400 pp
Bungee Bloukrans: ZAR1000 pp. For more information, see: Bloukrans bungee jump

Nice to know
Do not end your hike when you reached the suspension bridges, from here a (steep) walking path leads to a viewpoint where you can enjoy a magnificent view! This trail starts at the pebble beach on the other side of the long suspension bridge.
In stormsriver you can also take very nice walks through the indigenous forest. Park your car at the police station (for this you drive the main street darnell st towards the East, at the sign of SANparks you will find the police station on your left). To start the routes you walk further on Darnell st. towards the forest. A route of 5, 7 or 8km is possible. There are leaflets with the route at the start of the forest.
Stormsriver has its own beer brewery! This is located on the main street (Darnell st). The owner is happy to tell you more about the brewing process and you can taste the beers.
